My son is 17 with no driver license. He drove his friend car and got into an accident...?

Legally can both owners of the cars sue me? My car insurance says the car my son was driving has tto pay for other he hit. along with his comprehensive insurance paying for his own damage. Is that correct or I'm I responsible for both car damages ? And legally what kind of trouble my son can be in?
