Sims 3 updates but I already have the latest version?

So, I have the latest update for the sims 3 and now I recently got sims 3 world adventures and when i try to install it, it says that i need to update my sims 3 game, so i press 'update' but it says 'error. could not update sims 3 game' or something like that, but i have already got the latest version and it keeps saying i need to update it. hep!
