Should I tell my doctor I shot up drugs?

Shot up on the 5th of this month for the first AND LAST time... very scary and stupid, I know. But since then I've been super worried about if I have HIV or Hep C... I used a clean needle, but shared the cotton. Should I tell my doctor that I've been worried and stuff, or would that be a bad idea?
